Imagine being so far up your own [REDACTED] that you think you should be recognised and lauded as a 'Foremost Expert' because you forced an LLM into Word as a new product feature no one wanted and people actively dislike.
Removal of #NASFIC from the WSFS Consitution doesn't mean there can't be any more of them, it just means it won't be used as an excuse to ensure that WSFS committees are always dominated by North American appointees. I am unsure if this means that the current NASFIC appointees remain in post.
Thought experiment: What would a @steamdeck.com for Corporate clients look like? The Steam-Machine without the 'gamer' hardware. A Linux kernel stripped down to the hardware on that machine, a keyboard and mouse. No other USB support other than accessibility devices.

Today I discovered that last week Kash Patel appears to have forgot his login password and got locked out of hit computer. Then he thought he'd been fired, and started panic phoning employees and people in congress saying he'd been fired. Until someone with IT checked in to reset his password.

@cstross @FrankEndrullat I do try to keep in mind what the 80s and early 90s were like. Blair ended up being on the Thatcher scale, but only at a 0.6 of a Thatcher. Alas people like Wes Streeting seem to be aiming for a 0.8 and above.
You can just feel the tension in the air on certain sites where people are starting to realise that The Project to revive Fascism as a political force has failed, and that they might start to see personal consequences for having wholeheartedly publicly supported their Strong Leaders.

@JdeBP @scalzi The whole basis for the "Skywalker Saga" came as a very late edit to an already functionally complete screenplay. And one that actually substantially changed the original intent of Bracket setting up a love triangle that would tempt Luke to the dark side rather than some inherited destiny.

The original Star Wars was always intended as a pastiche of the Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers serials. Hence the title crawl, and resurrecting the long out of fashion wipe transitions. This was an affectation of being one of many serial episodes.
There was no plan for a sequel. Empire being written almost entirely by Leigh Bracket on a very light synopsis, and originally being a more self contained story. Then Lucas redrafted it to add "I am your father" pivoting the franchise.

@samueljohnson@mstdn.social @pete@masto.hypertelia.com Afaik, this isn't true. Pedestrians have presumed priority over *all* other traffic, including Cyclists. And that means both the explicit pedestrian paths, and implicit priority when it is not. Being required to use the cycling lanes does not mean you have priority in those lanes over pedestrians, and should show just as much caution where pedestrians can step into the lane as car drivers have to on roads. Don't repeat the mistakes of car drivers.
In particular if you read "A Casual Vacancy", and I strongly recommend you don't read "A Casual Vacancy", you see all the flaws of the HP books magnified out by Rowling writing without an editor making corrections to tone down her spite filled views. It is a bitter book of stereotypes and bigotry.
