@serrebi @prism@mastodon.social Possible? Absolutely. But good luck getting on that beta undercover and having non-agentic use cases get discovered. And you can bet this API will be a SAAS offering of their's. Unless the NFB or similar starts some sword-rattling, this seems like it's going to be a SAAS offering exclusively sold to established LLM providers. The reason macOS is listed is because the Mac Mini is the current favorite machine for agentic experimentation.

RE: https://infosec.exchange/@prism/116930415383893562 Limited beta for macOS developers only, so they say. Talk about gatekeeping, huh. They seriously missed an opportunity to invite developers to have their Pi - of the Raspberry variety, that is - order food. How could they miss the mark this much?

@menelion I wonder how it stacks up to what currently exists in, say, Synology Drive. Having no experience with the Drive client but having seen their demo DSM application and the intentional accessibility therein. Glad to see Nextcloud taking some necessary steps. Let's hope the momentum continues.

@KaraLG84 @Rosita311 It's very likely a scan of their print menu, or at least a save from whichever authoring tool's being used to create it. Given most restaurants are pushed towards the *for lack of a better term* fastfood approach to site creation, I.E. templates or probably even a template vendor, that does not follow fundamental accessibility or, let's face it, web design/development best practices.

@clv1@mastodon.social @nick@mastodon.social @WeirdWriter Native app development is/should be made significantly easier by their Borogove SDK. Their post about it: https://snikket.org/blog/borogove-the-new-snikket-sdk/ And the main page for the SDK proper: https://borogove.dev/ Updating to tagging @@snikket_im@fosstodon.org. Is the SDK to a point where a native desktop app could be made? Miranda IM is still being maintained but is nevertheless a bit behind on its support of group messaging, and has no support for multimedia.

@clv1@mastodon.social @nick@hkc.social @WeirdWriter@caneandable.social Snikket Chat is also a strong contender, given its use of a well-established XMPP protocol. Once a more modern and native XMPP app is developed that is able to take advantage of the improvements to the spec made on the part of Snikket, that is. Miranda IM's support of groupchats is underdeveloped, and Pigeon just isn't very accessible on the Windows side. https://snikket.org/

I am not sure if Snikket has a direct search feature, but one of the features of its chat circles capability is a circle-specific shared contact list.

@alexchapman@tweesecake.social @fireborn@dragonscave.space @keao@caneandable.social And it's a win because Snikket has improved upon the XMPP spec to deliever things users and orgs actually liked from Discord, such as circles (roles equivalent) and chat channels (fixed rooms attached to each circle) and a client or even forked server can implement any of those just as well.

@alexchapman@tweesecake.social @fireborn@dragonscave.space @munchkinbear@mastodon.stickbear.me @ky0les@fwoof.space Snikket is the benchmark I would recommend going for due to its well-implemented chat circles/channels capability, that and their mobile app being *extremely* accessible. So Thrive Messenger could chat with folks on the server utilizing the Snikket mobile app. The accessibility of their web portal is also superb.

@alexchapman@tweesecake.social @fireborn@dragonscave.space @munchkinbear@mastodon.stickbear.me @ky0les@fwoof.space Safe bet that if you can get one working, the other likely will as well. Snikket is probably the one most people are going to want to set up due to its turnkey approach, and the Prosody team even recommends Snikket for that use-case.

@alexchapman@tweesecake.social @fireborn@dragonscave.space @munchkinbear@mastodon.stickbear.me @ky0les@fwoof.space Well and if it does gain xmpp support, then this will turn into a really well-done multi-provider client such is the likes of Miranda NG (accessible but missing features) and Pigeon (POssibly outdated GTK, because inaccessible on Windows). There are some really good modern re-implementations of XMPP, consider Snikket https://snikket.org/ setup couldn't be simpler.

Re-last: Being unaware of any documentation for the 32bit synth proxy, save for a reference implementation in the sapi4 driver: A problem I see here when attempting an update on Dectalk is the same problem run into with Eloquence, that loading the 32bit dll is simply impossible iwthout a helper process. Dectalk has a 64bit dll but converting the nvda addon to that is well beyond my understanding of the architecture. Oh well. Was a good attempt at least.
