@Techaltar@mas.to question for nebula: What happens to open source development and players like GrapheneOS after google effectively kills non-signed app development? Do you see them doing the same for webpages using their SEO or straight blocking specific webpages in Chrome in the future? Any chance for EU to step in as an anti monopolistic move, or are they misleaded into thinking it's all about our security? Do you foresee google alternatives (I.e. huawei) to get stronger in open source community, since verification happens at google play services layer, not android itself? @trantion @Tarah correct me if I'm wrong, but if they require a code they email you, password is redundant as you could otherwise reset it using the same email. Truth is, you email inbox is the single point of failure, but abstracting from it, I see nothing wrong with ditching passwords in such case
