@KrissyKat@hoosier.social I watched many thousands of these be decapitated and removed in my country - including one right outside my own window. I hate that US has them with passion. All statues of men will fall spectacularly.
Illustrators, please, post a piece of your work and tell me how long it took you to make.
Ukraine is now above the US in the Index of freedom of press rating. 55th. russia, obviously, is in the bottom 10.
My mom said the photographers at the funeral were incredibly invasive in the family's personal space. It's upsetting that some "journalists" make other people's personal tragedy into clicks for their Instagram account.
I've suddenly become a target to russian bots on other social media in the past few days, real obvious and a bit more sophisticated ones. It's been a while. I think something is brewing if they are so active again.
Is it true that fuckface's mug is going to be on the new US passports? I know passports are us property and you can't deface them, so this may be a big problem for me, since the question of naturalization is on the table for me
Listen to this video. My sister's voice singing at her own funeral as she is being walked through the streets of Kyiv one last time.
When I first went to art school as a child, I was taught that rulers are illegal and if you had to glue a piece of paper over a mistake - you are a failure and the scum of the world.
Now as I admire original pages of comic book artists who are
1) insanely fast
2) insanely creative and versatile
3) insanely technical
4) glue over a bad hand
I realize that everything is kinda made up and I can make shit up as I go too and call myself whatever I want. I'm an artist, motherfuckers
Potato has an incredible talent to read minds. The second I had a thought "I need to get out of bed and do some work" he ran into the bedroom and laid down on my legs. 90 seconds and he is asleep. He was nowhere to be found when I was scrolling. This has happened so often that I don't think it's a coincidence. He only comes seconds before I am about to do something else.
Between communicating with my family in Ukraine about our loss, the funeral and travel arrangements, and helping my partner, who is currently in Japan, cancel cards and get cash via WU because he lost his wallet, I am in three different timezones and three distinctly different distressed states of mind. Oh and a pharmacist said my name was russian this morning, cherry on top. Haven't had a break since February.
I am going to make a 50 cell table. Every time someone in my circle, be it jobs or friends, says something infuriating and prompting me to respond, or I read news that I want to vent about to my partner - I will fill in one cell, take a deep breath and walk away from the situation. I will do that 50 times before I am allowed to interact again.
I am so emotionally exhausted. This will either help me let it go or will bottle up my feelings and make me explode. Tune in to see in a few weeks
My partner is 1500 words into Ukrainian learning and he reads really well. He mastered understanding cognates, which is a big chunk of languages of indo-european origin.
I now give him a list of items with specifications in Ukrainian, and he can find his way around Ann's Deli and Bakery in Chicago by just looking and understanding the writing on labels.
It bums me out when people tell me their partner doesn't want to learn their first language. I know how lucky I am <3
