I DJ, and am unsurprisingly genre-fluid. My fursona is a 'mitten' which is a portmantua of mouse and kitten.

Cybersecurity has merely sought to claim the history for its own purposes as it became institutionalized. And yes, Hackers is schlocky goodness :3

I don't know if I am capable of being independent. It's a fear I've had pretty much since I was diagnosed, but I've been noticing more and more entirely necessary, normal parts of life that I just get paralyzed trying to deal with.
.... It'll be fine, I've been able to keep a job down and all the things but...
can't make the what ifs go away.

I think you'd be happy how I used the emotional energy of you stepping out.
I'm healthier. I'm employed again. I'm dedicating my time to bringing joy into the world.
I fell in love again, several times :) Deeply and quickly. Surprising in intensity.
I wish you got to see all of these changes. I even went on HRT. But... I know you'd be proud of them.
And that's enough.

@penny Gods Sun was so cool. Why can't we have Sun and SGI back? Why did we get stuck with Apple and Oracle and IBM still not being dead? This sucks, I want a refund. ... Anyway :3 That's such a cool little piece of computing history. I adore how very sun that is. 1wire/iButton was such a better choice than the funny smart card interface for this application IMO, but, lo and behold they backed the wrong horse. Oh well. At least they got used for laser tag!

@catandgirl@socel.net *head-bauble* My assumption is this is commentary on semiotics and the general tendency within consumerism toward hyperreality? I ask because i mostly associate the 'post-modern' era with the specific critique of those sort of grand narratives but the panel transition seems to imply that post-modern philosophies are 'the master's philosophies'. I just wanted to make sure I'm on the same page.

D: I feel it's /critical/ we be very intentional about creating a culture that sees music as more than a fungible space filler. Music should never be reduced to a transaction. It is one of the most fundamental ways of connecting and we should never allow middlemen to alienate the artist.
