I've heard several times over the last few years that if someone proposed an idea like a free public library system today (or unemployment compensation, or social security, or anything that serves the wider public who aren't wealthy), it would never fly. That's a serious problem for a country.

It's Monday and I've already encountered 3 instances of companies/orgs trying to cut corners but failing because they won't hire, pay or train qualified staff. The product/delivery/service fails repeatedly. Penny wise, pound foolish. The economy is NOT doing well. It's artificially propped up with toothpicks and tape that can't be sustained.

For several years now, I've been seeing seeds for fake flowers for sale across various platforms, particularly Facebook ads. Now apparently they are on Etsy and Amazon. My mother in law bought some over 5 years ago. They are real seeds but do not grow into the flowers as shown because the shape, size, color are impossible. @JenMsft This happened to me TWICE last week. Once was Facebook marketplace. I posted "?" in reply. Then a half hour later he said "address?" and I lost track of time before I saw it and lost a sale. People need to be clearer, I can't read their friggin' minds. Another example was from an IT person, but she got dragged away to another project before she could finish the followup IM.

Meanwhile, Amtrak still has failed to give me a refund 3 weeks after filing a claim for a cancelled train trip.

I reported them to the PA Attorney General's office for their entire lack of customer service. In a reasonable world, they would have compensated me for the incredible inconvenience. Instead, I have to fight to get my money back for a ticket I couldn't use because of their issue.
