Phanpy.social does this and it works very well. I appreciate for others here notifications and opt-in are a red line though.

@design_law@mastodon.social There *is* an algorithm for them to feed: Trending Posts (Explore > Posts in the standard web interface), which shows the most Boosted OR Favourited posts on your server over the last day or so. It's where I found this post! So, "favourite" away to your heart's content in the knowledge that you're not only showing appreciation but also helping promote the post.

@jeena@toot.jeena.net @CrazyMyra@mastodon.social @feditips@mstdn.social I'm not sure all the encouragement in the world at the moment will make up for the shortcomings in the instance moving process, i.e. losing everyone you've followed (unless you're techy enough to work around that) and all your posts (no workaround possible). I'm pretty tech-savvy and this is the main reason I have no interest in moving, even if I don't like the idea of this server getting too big.

@fraying@xoxo.zone I'm not sure arguments for banning TikTok and altering Section 230 have much to do with the rest of these things (all of which are certainly far right in nature). Both have their advocates on both sides of the aisle. It's certainly not true that all the worry about TikTok is xenophobia, and it's not exactly the case that Section 230 protects speech online either. Important not to fall into the trap of polarising every issue. EDIT: This was an unnecessarily overbearing reply. Sorry.
