@onfy@sleeping.town Yes, VHS is too low bandwidth to do this live, but the process essentially goes through the whole things, sees blur, but compares this pattern of blur with known blur to fetch the original data out. Out at least most of it. It’s trained on teletext, so not out of the box. I suspect CCs are easier because they are lower resolution right?

For a long time it was only possible to recover teletext on Linux - now you can do it on your Windows laptop! Get more information and download VBI Recorder for nothing at https://teletextarchaeologist.org/software/ - but do remember to upload your recoveries to https://www.teletextarchive.com afterwards :-)
