We gotta burn carbon to make the equipment to free ourselves from burning carbon. If we don't make solar and wind, we are doomed to always burning carbon.
You will never convince people to cut back on consumption. So you must find way for consumption to be less damaging. Like requiring 100% recyclability. Tax high amounts for virgin material use and non recyclability.
