@gsuberland @manawyrm @azonenberg @jik @zackwhittaker in an ideal world, the boot payload is checked by a secure enclave of your motherboard and if it doesn't look legit, it's refused, device doesn't boot and the secure enclave doesn't provide it's part of the decryption, meaning the data stay locked. Also, all data on disk would be backed up somewhere safe so it would be simply a matter of wiping the device clean and reinstalling.

@Tattie this remind me how in old hetero couple, when the woman die first, the man often follow the next year. If the man die first, the woman often stay alive at least a few more years. I guess it's related a bit, like men putting all their feeling toward one person and falling appart when she's gone and they expect everyone to do the same.

@davevolek @DGI you organize locally, you protect the ones in danger, you provide to the ones in need. You could get a group of people running for mayor then setting up shelter for the homeless and foodbank for the hungry. Or you could do that without asking for permission.

@sinbad @skamille I guess there is the idea from non-technical people in position of power that it's the technical people who don't understand what they are told/ are too lazy to do it in a timely fashion and if they can just talk to the machine, things will be done just as they imagine and much faster
