@goedelchen @gwentlarry @iFixit that’s where projects like LineageOS come in! Most OEMs have pretty lackluster software longevity still, but open source projects continue to keep things rolling.

@lproven@social.vivaldi.net Ubuntu Touch and PostmarketOS are both fun alternatives for the tech-y folks (who can get one of the supported devices)

@iFixit soldered storage is the worst. Memory is more understandable, since it had a pretty long lifespan, but storage is a wear part!

@wafflesies @iFixit considering board level repair is required to swap the SSD when it inevitably wears out, I agree. This thing is kind of a joke, in that regard.
