So the part these posts miss is this problem predates the internet by a significant margin
Technology itself is a tool of exploitation
You used to have to live within a reasonable distance of your work until the car and bus showed up. Now companies don't have to hire local people they can hire anyone who can afford the gas to get there.
Cars were seen as a tool to help, but ended up becoming forced on anyone who doesn't live in the middle of a city
All technological progress we see starts out optional but becomes not optional as time goes on. The internet enshittified because that was what was always going to happen, its just the big technological advancement we saw in our lifetimes So it's the only example of this we know, because everything else is taken for granted as it was always forced on us.

@RachelThornSub@famichiki.jp i also donated but since i want to run it on a tablet its missing a crucial working osk to make that usable for me. it also makes it unusable for people with low mobility that cannot use a physical keyboard.

ok so #elementaryos probably not gonna work for a touch screen computer. kind of a shame since that drastically and severely reduces accessibility use cases.
their problem is they're still using onboard which hasn't been maintained well for some time. most of the xorg-era osks hardly work at all anymore. it's also not nearly wayland ready yet. problem with wayland osks is they're being made for specific desktops like gnome or kde, so there's going to be a ton of redundant effort making a generic wayland-session osk. that's kind of the double-edged sword of shipping your own desktop is you have full control over it but you also forego the support of big projects and have to do everything yourself, which leads to edge cases being unsupported, or reliance on third party vendors that you don't control.
really the only solution to this is roll your own OSK or abandon that use case entirely.

@Ichinin@infosec.exchange yeah it's just usually when asked what the use case is people with accessibility needs aren't able to get their voice heard and so issues are closed without considering them

The complete antithesis to accessibility is the words "use case?"
If that's your philosophy you are not accessibility focused software and you shouldn't claim as such

@jalefkowit@hachyderm.io kind of a shame this has to be said in a media website
Like what's the point of running a media site if you aren't even making the media

There really is a shame in allowing discord and other discord like services to take over the floss sphere
Like let's say even if you think you're being a rebel and using fluxer cause oh it's foss but it's also just like the torment nexus I just left or am trying to leave
That's not even to get into the politics behind a group that claims to be decent human beings while simultaneously engaging in stalking doxxing and swatting and overall recreating the atmosphere of 1984 in every fucking nook and cranny they find themselves in
Its important we keep these people far away from private and secure messaging because they prove time and time again they don't value freedom, just the fashion of it.

Bethesda is like the last company I even consider buying games from, though I haven't enjoyed like the last 4 games they made
Elder scrolls 6 isn't a day 1 purchase for me cause I already got burnt on starfield I'm gonna wait for reviews and if the reviews suck I'm officially an indie purist and the entire industry can kick rocks

Of course after spraying a ton of contact cleaner into the right channel it was the RCA cable that was bad
And of course I don't have any small RCA cables so I just have like 2 coils of wire going from the dac and the eq
Then I realized my TV wasn't connected to wifi for music streaming so I put an Ethernet cable on it to the mesh wifi adapter next to it
I love technology if you can't tell this is my hobby
