@blinry I have not tried using threadcat yet, but my hunch would be to keep the original filename (ensures there are no collisions) and add some metadata.
Depending on how you handle individual posts, maybe add the post ID or the ID of the anchor in your output. Having all media from a specific post in a dedicated subdirectory might be useful?

@realmurphy @liw My mind emitted "consent fatigue", but I have no idea of that's a useful phrase, or where I might have picked it up...

@millihertz The problem with systemd in that kind of comparison is that systemd is a tightly integrated systems management suite that also provides an init function.

Mostly everything else is an init system that relies on other components for tasks outside of that scope.

You can't replace one with the other, so that kind of discussion is rather moot at this point. You get a very different taste of an OS when you cook it with the full systemd instant soup instead of a selection of raw materials that each have their own flavours.

@rotnroll666 Yeah, I didn't believe that news to be wrong, I just hadn't seen any mention of it in German media, and wondered why no one had picked that one up.

Turns out I just hadn't seen the headlines - it's been widely reported about two days ago...

@rotnroll666 A week or so ago I thought it was certain that the US and Europe would just give up and buy Russian oil and gas if they can get it, and sure enough "This week, the US Treasury lifted all oil sanctions on Iran. For 30 days. 140 million barrels of Iranian crude, sitting on ships at sea, may now be sold freely on the global market. Including to the United States itself. In yuan. [..] In the same OFAC filing, Russian oil sanctions were lifted as well. And Belarus potash too [..]"

Have not seen that one in the news anywhere over here.
