For other djangonauts out there: this is an excellent guide for migrating a production app to a custom User model BUT you need to deploy all the changes up to step 5 to all your deployments (prod, stage, etc). Then proceed with the guide and deploy again at the end of it.

Hey all, I've begun the process of transitioning the management of pdx.social over to a group of folks. I've been running the site since 2017 and it feels like its time for some new energy.

The new team consists of @agnes@pdx.social who will be leading community engagement and moderation as well as @tedder@pdx.social & @hanse00@pdx.social who will be handling the technical side of things. Big shout out to them for stepping up to volunteer! ❤️

honestly I think the pixelfed server should be shut down.

Costs could definitely be cut by moving off of masto.host.
