There's a reason that in German you don't check your bag, you do "Gepäck aufgeben", which literally means "give up your bag".

Apparently, even though you are at an airport, your checked bags are somewhere on a conveyor belt at the airport, and you have a rebooked flight to your destination, there's nothing the baggage tracking office can do to ensure that your bag also makes it to the destination on that flight. You first have to fly to the destination without the bag and then request from there that the bags are sent to you as well.

For example, the C++26 standard library has senders/receivers which essentially work via continuations, so you can write async functions that take N inputs and M outputs natively without resorting to tuples. You can even send outputs of different types without having to box them into a sum type (because they just statically dispatch to different overloads).
