Maple is really quite annoying to work with. It's taking ages to plank this stuff with my tools. I only have a small bandsaw, so it's cutting 140mm wide planks at about 0.5mm per second. This is going to take forever!
I will be available for work from July. I'm taking my time to find the right place, e.g. I have not even updated my cv yet. I spent ~20 years writing games in C++, then ~5 years working in safety related low level automotive where I ended up writing more Python than C++. I enjoy writing offline and UI based tools, optimization of code and processes, documentation writing and structuring, and coaching and mentoring others. I wonder what my next step will be.
Stuff has been going missing from my fridge. I wasn't sure what was happening until I noticed this:
I have tried the Pentel graphgear pencils, but I keep going back to the Uni kuru toga. The rotating lead is very good for consistent writing. Never gets the flat that all other mechanical and non mechanical pencils suffer from.
At the end of all this, when Trump's term in office ends, and when the people of the United States start to see the world as a place they are in and not a place they own, is someone at a newscasting corporation going to announce, loud and clear, that this era was actually all a skit named The Aristocrats?
Kinda sad about llms and em dashes. I learned to use them in writing due to all the old works I read by Christopher Alexander, and then found out how to use them correctly for myself. Unresolved Forces (www.unresolvedforces.com) uses them a fair amount for the asides and sub points of a sentence, but I fear people will think I used an LLM to write it, even though LLMs weren't a thing when I wrote the bulk of the content.
The next question is, do I revert to my old, less elegant style now?
Ever wondered why Design Patterns didn't take off? Did you ever wonder how they became so all-pervasive but also so empty and soulless? Those were the sparking thoughts behind this book. It's taken four years of research and way too much of my spare time. Go check out Unresolved Forces: https://www.unresolvedforces.com/
