check out this absolute fucking chiller i met in Woomera!!!! does anyone their dragonfly species 👀 i didn’t take any photos on my phone, but the town in Woomera is soooo fucking cooked to visit. around every corner, there is another decommissioned missile statue or fighter jet out on display. in the visitor centre, active military personnel working in the hugeeee fuck off missile testing range go to hang out in it’s bowling alley!!! the best bit of the propagandist museum is a photo of protesters in the 60s/70s/80s(??) standing in a chain with their bums and bits out and letters painted on their backs to make the statement, “we’ve got nothing to hide - why do you?”. nothing on the colonisation of the Kokatha people, stories of staunch resistance of their old people, or more recent resistance from Kokatha activists like the late Uncle Kevin Burzacott. other regional towns like Ceduna are bound to continue to grow into these grossly explicit footsteps if we don’t support in mass those in resistance like Aunty Sue Haseldine!!!

headed off to Mparntwe from Tarndanya for convergence shenanigans yesterday (this was written a few days ago LOL)!! second big thing was that i DRIVED for the FIRST TIME since permanently losing much of my vestibular function and gaze stability last september!!!!! what the hellllll people. since becoming disabled and slowly going through a long, and at times, extraordinarily challenging exploratory period of questioning and finding out what things my body can (or should) still do, tackling driving was rad. the quirks of my balance dysfunction are the hardest bit of my disease to explain!! my vision is “bouncier” than normal, like my eyes were encased in jelly or their a crappy ipod camera without proper gyroscopic stabilisation. when an eye or head movement is made, it takes them several milliseconds longer to adjust to a target and stabilise than regular eyes, which means as things get further away from me, they tend to be more blurry. butt 🍑, it’s not toooo extreme while driving!! like when riding my bike or being a passenger now, the main bits i need to worry about are my reaction time to small and fast things far away from me - cars are thankfully fine to see in front of me and over my shoulder. i FUCKING HATEEEE that it was case in a car and not a sexy, speedy bicycle i can call my own, but it felt veryyyyy special to experience more agency in my transport again.
