Evidence of the pain I felt of not being able to vote Green on the constituency ballot (the new boundaries moved me from Glasgow Kelvin to Glasgow Central).

"One thing really worth pointing out is that Glasgow Central constituency vote figure....What happened there? Well, by regional list vote result, that was the third best Green constituency in the country. In other words, it’s the best constituency they didn’t stand a local candidate in."

I assume that the deal is that former Makerfield MP Josh Simons will run for Mayor of Manchester after Andy Burnham wins his seat.

I expect it will all play out as expected, but with Reform comfortably winning that area in the council elections, and Hannah Spencer and new Green councillors showing that Labour can't assume they will win, there are some hilarious possibilities if all doesn't go according to plan.

Prof Sir John Curtice, on the English council election results based on key wards:

"A sharp fall in Labour's performance is accompanied more often by an above average Green performance than it is by a strong Reform performance."

"It should be remembered that Labour may often lose seats to Reform because it is losing votes to the Greens, while the Conservatives are losing votes to Reform. The net effect can be that Labour end up losing a seat to Reform."

Voters in Glasgow, on May 7th remember that "Independent Green Voice" is a far right, non-Green, non indy-supporting con that the Electoral Commission should have dealt with many years ago.

If you want to vote green, vote Scottish Green Party (SGP).

Look for the logo.

Massive win for the Green party in the Gorton and Denton by-election; not even close in the end:

Hannah Spencer (Green Party): 14,980 Matt Goodwin (Reform UK): 10,578
Angeliki Stogia (Labour Party): 9,364

Hopefully the UK government will now realise it needs to tack hard to the left. Chasing after Farage's xenophobic votes is a losing proposition.
