@michal@spondr.cz @EUCommission@ec.social-network.europa.eu It's not about forcing companies to offer services for free. It's completely fine for news websites to have a paywall. The problem is that the other option cannot be "sell your personal data to hundreds of other companies". Personal data privacy cannot be part of what you buy. And mind you that even if you pay and personal data isn't collected, you will still see publicity, sponsored content, etc.

@michal@spondr.cz @EUCommission@europa.eu The DMA does not only apply to gatekeepers. It has special clauses for gatekeepers though. My point is that I believe this "pay-or-okay" (or "pay-or-agree") model where you either gotta pay or have your personal data harvested and sent to hundreds of companies is not allowed, no matter the company at question is a gatekeeper or not, should be completely forbidden. The Meta case will for sure set some precedents.
