I’m a #medieval historian based at the University of Cologne. ❧ Research focus: Northern/Western European History (England, Scandinavia, ‘Germany’) ❧ I’m currently working on an introductory book (in German) about bishops in the Early Middle Ages, broadly defined (4th–13th c.). ❧ Header image: Bamberg Msc.Lit.53, fol.2v ❧ Opinions are my own. ❧ Bookwyrm: @domwass

Updated #introduction: I’m a #medieval historian working on the Early Middle Ages, with a focus on church history. I’m currently writing an introductory book on bishops, together with a colleague. Another project looks at the role of bishops in succession crises in England and Germany in 10th and 11th centuries – or rather on their perceptions in written sources. I wrote a book on the Norman Conquest of England in 1066 and another one on travelling Scandinavians in Europe (my dissertation).

RE: @wackJackle@norden.social

Great comparison between the media revolutions of the 14th/15th centuries (printing press) and today (computer).
