real talk; the answer is that the Mechanicus are too powerful for the Imperium to actually fuck with. For one, they were an already established and very strong empire on Mars while the Emperor was just getting humanity back together after a great collapse on Earth, so they negotiated the alliance from a position of power. For two, the Imperium gets every gun, every ship, every tank, every drop pod, every Titan, literally everything other than I think food and manpower for their armies from the Mechanicus. If you wanna start investingating their "definitely not-AI," you gotta be prepared to have your shipments of Leman Russes to suddenly start getting lost.

unfortunately, being familiar with the game, no it’s toxic af. It’s debateable if Nicole has any feelings at all toward Ari beyond just the personal gratification of treating her poorly. One of the routes has Nicole bullying Ari so hard that Ari decides to date men again because Nicole has ruined her on the concept of dating women, and Nicole’s kinda just proud of it.

I dunno if it was the best, but the pizza that lives in my memory was a whopping 24" pizza from a local place. That’s over 450 square inches of 'za, or 11 square meters for the Europeans. It was glorious, and took four incredibly high stoners about a day and a half to work through.

I’m talking from a US perspective, but I work in an education adjacent field that reviews a lot of homeschool student’s academic records from across the country. IMO, there are two types of homeschoolers. There’s the students who are truly brilliant living in a part of the country that doesn’t value education, and they’re practically forced into homeschooling (or a popular online program like Stanford Online High School) in order to receive an actual education that could challenge them. They do get less socialization than their traditional schooled peers, but they’d get mercilessly bullied at a traditional school so it’s hard to say how much value that socialization has. The other type are the religious fundies. I have even more hands-on experience with this style, as some of my cousins were homeschooled in this manner. IMO, this shit should be illegal. It’s accepted because someone is typically monitoring these students’ academic progress, but I can say with confidence that Republican states are letting a lot of shit slide. It’s religious indoctrination at a level beyond what you would even find at a religious private school. Typically, these students are better socialized than the other homeschool students, though with the caveat that all their socialization happens in religious settings.

sorry full of valuable resources? what, corn? dataservers? pedophiles? the U.S. is not some piggy bank waiting to be cracked. Realistically, the current US military exists to defend America from all the nations it’s pissed off by invading them in the past. It’s a self-fullfilling system.

My cats looove hitting my power button. It got so bad that I started setting a box on top of my computer just to block the power button, but they frequently still try to push the box away so they can turn off the computer.

Everyone in my office hates it, including my director who occasionally ends up going on a rant because Microsoft and Adobe often end up pushing their AI to us when we don’t want it. Sometimes I’m very thankful I work for a nonprofit. They’re still p shitty to us employees, but our focus is first and foremost on doing the job right, something AI has no chance at.

I dunno if it really counts, because these days I play Diablo 2 Resurrected instead of the real OG, but god I still love Diablo 2. I was playing a Druid Maul build a little bit just last weekend in anticipation of Path of Exile 2 adding animal transformations. It’s just one of those classic Blizzard titles I go back to at least once every year, alongside Warcraft 3 and Starcraft. They’re like the triumvirate of my childhood nostalgia. Wish the company wasn’t so awful.

I’m so torn up by the sequel. It was pretty mid overall, but the final bossfight was so incredibly infuriating that it ruined my overall impression of the game, so much so that I’d rather the sequel never existed at all.

It is, but it’s a little weird when compared to the post because it’s still getting updates. That’s why I play World of Warcraft Classic, which is actually the game from 20 years ago (technically 18 since I’ll be playing Burning Crusade Classic soon.)
