Australia wouldn't hesitate to throw tens of billions of dollars towards oil refining and holding, and lost revenue from the excise reduction, without batting an eyelid.

But when it comes to large projects like Inland Rail that would help reduce oil consumption it chickens out.

I wonder how long the horizon is for building storage and refining capacity is versus finishing Inland Rail (supposedly 2038, or 2027 to Parkes)?

Another event organised by Kathryn Good in opposition to the QLD state government's proposed restrictions on bike riding.

Tomorrow, Thursday 7th of May 5pm for a 5:30pm roll out, starting from the north end of Martin Street, Fortitude Valley.

On the blue website: https://www.facebook.com/events/1892952878031505/

I'll be there to show my support as a regular bike user and aspiring future e-bike owner 🚲

Should've uses Moodle instead of an expensive, insecure SaaS product.

Seriously, my high school used Moodle and it worked well. Universities could improve on it because it's FOSS.

Only problem is that Moodle isn't backed by the Big Four consultancy cartel so it's not really on the table.

@Unixbigot also I seem to recall something about a certain non-Labor federal government loosening border controls and letting in the e-motos. Hypocrisy on so many levels.

@Unixbigot here I was thinking that Mickelberg and the LNP were just ignorant of cyclist needs but that quote really speaks to the politicisation of this issue.

In a statement, Queensland's Minister for Transport, Brent Mickelberg, said the government was prepared to make "tough decisions".

"Labor funded and put illegal e-scooters and e-bikes on the streets, while we're removing them," he said.
