@QasimRashid@mastodon.social FB has been a main source of fascist propaganda for at least several years now. I deactivated my account after I was harassed nonstop for standing up against racism. When I'd report the harassers to Facebook they would always dismiss it.

@troed@swecyb.com @nixCraft@mastodon.social I'm glad you're having fun but I don't have a use for your app. There's a lot going on at once. It's not totally useless but way less exciting than other recent technology breakthroughs. New programmers in the field are losing their experience to become dependent on proprietary technology that is stealing an unknown amount of content and that can be adjusted at the whims of a few big AI corporations.

@ExtinctionR@social.rebellion.global How many wildfires were there before? I have no idea but I do know they didn't ruin my air quality for weeks every summer living in Chicago.

@nixCraft@mastodon.social The companies are obviously lying about AI. It's a scam. If LLM was so good at writing code how come there is no new amazing apps? How come the apps I already was using where I know AI is involved have gotten worse? It doesn't even seem like they are interested in using it at things it would be good at like moderating hate speech and astroturfing.

@jcrabapple@dmv.community electric buses and electrified railways should come first but private EVs are better in every way than private ice vs. I call mine my Biden mobile. They were basically the cheapest new cars available for a few years during the Biden ev credit years. I believe it cost about half what the average new car costs.

@theorangetheme@en.osm.town @notjustbikes@social.notjustbikes.com @uxMark@cosocial.ca Americans are likely the most propagandized people in the world. We're a total global outlier in car fatalities and injuries yet nobody seems concerned and other types of transportation projects are constantly derailed slowed down or cancelled.

@grumpasaurus@infosec.exchange I hope you have it done correctly. I see a lot of trimming that will cause long term damage or death for the tree. https://mortonarb.org/plant-and-protect/tree-plant-care/plant-care-resources/how-and-when-to-prune-trees/

@QasimRashid@mastodon.social Just like it makes no sense that Republicans do better at the economy, it makes no sense that they're better at crime either. Their policies designed to harm the poor are the most soft on crime policies you could sign into law.

@WhiteCatTamer @tayfonay At the time I felt similar to you but in retrospect, no. He shouldn't have moderated at all from his campaign. They were going to hyperventilate no matter what he did. He should have done things that people would feel in their lives and associate with the Democratic party delivering. Instead he pandered to the oligarchs. They realized how weak our country is and decided to go as far as possible.

@tayfonay I still feel like if Obama would have followed through on his campaign promises or at least tried to push the party towards them long term there would have never been oxygen for the orange felon to exist as a president. I'm not an Obama hater but siding with the banks and insurers was a terrible choice that totally destroyed confidence in the Democratic party. Obama had an opportunity to convert a generation of nonvoters to long term supporters I don't understand why he threw it away.

@reece Glad you love your city. I love mine too despite its flaws. I don't even really think about leaving. The cities I admire most also have their flaws and I'm just not good enough at learning languages to seriously consider many of my favorites. Who knows what the future will bring though! I like hearing your perspective and I definitely want to visit the major cities in Canada someday.

@tayfonay Nobody calls it cellular field or guaranteed rate field. It's comisky or sox park. According to Wikipedia Willis is a defunct company anyway. The Sears company was founded in Chicago. It was fine when it was around! The renames are lame and phony so nobody cares and keeps calling it the old thing.

@QasimRashid The leader of the corporate Democrats Schumer said his job is to keep the Democratic party pro Israel against the will of their constituents and so far the Senate has failed to remove him from leadership. Corporate Democrats are part of a undemocratic single party aligned with Republicans to serve oligarchs.
