Dead internet theory still holds some truth.
Every social media algorithm is heavily gamed by marketing xompanies, nothing is organic. Only going to get worse with LLMs. I don't see how it can get any better as long as social media depends on ad revenue. Federation is the future!

"Whatever it is people are worried about, the libertarian answer is always going to be that the worries are overblown — because if they’re not overblown, there is a reasonable argument for regulation, and a libertarian is never going to say there’s a reasonable argument for regulation."

"If you have any financial exposure to an index fund that tracks the Nasdaq 100 and the S&P 500, you’d better hope SpaceX remains a rational and steady stock, because you’ll have no influence whatsoever on the direction Musk takes the company."
We're about to watch just about every pension and retirement fund in the world (certainly America) get looted to keep Elon rich

This is the most interesting thing I've read in a while about how #AI will ACTUALLY integrate into the world!
"...thing you should be tracking is the number of engineering jobs opening up at traditionally non-Silicon Valley tech companies — small businesses, consulting firms, life sciences, manufacturing."
Really exciting, to me. And they shout out healthcare and charting burden, which I have hours of just about every day.

toot toot! trying out something that automatically scans my toots and applies popular hastags (for different values of popular)
My TRMNL X finally came! I paid for it last summer and it was supposed to be a Christmas gift for myself, so it's... 6 months late, some people on reddit say battery life isn't as advertised, and CEO turns out to be Charlie Kirk/Trump stan, but maybe I can finally stop looking for an e-ink shared family wall calendar. I started listening to Bloombergs Odd Lots podcast, I really like 1/2 the hosts (the guy just talks to hear himself talk sometimes, the woman asks really insightful questions), they have interesting guests etc. but my absolute favorite part is at the end of the episode the two hosts talk sh*t about the guest and how they disagree with what they said.
This is the one I'm thinking of in particular https://omny.fm/shows/odd-lots/thomas-peterffy-on-interactive-brokers-plan-to-professionalize-prediction-markets
The argument for prediction markets as a polling measure is insane to me... The only money I would personally ever put in a prediction market is as on something I think is UNLIKELY, as a hedge. I'm 90% sure Democrats will win next US elections (hopefully forever) but I'll put money on the republicans just so that, if they won, at least I'll have extra money to help during the imminent civil war
