Spätestens die aktuelle politische Situation in den USA wäre eine gute Gelegenheit, sich mal eine neue bei einem europäischen Anbieter zu besorgen. Die wichtigsten Logins sind an einem Nachmittag umgestellt, den Rest macht man nach und nach.

There's no way this is safe if you're driving alone and have to do this on your own while driving. We should have shut this down immediately when car manufacturers started that bullshit.

@parismarx@mastodon.online Haven't used Google search for about two years now. Search is a commodity and there are many alternatives. Getting rid of Google search is surprisingly easy. No network effects, no real incentive to stick with it. You can just go to another search engine. The cost of switching is basically zero.

Es braucht keine zusätzliche Steuer auf digitale Dienstleistungen - stattdessen sollten wir die Möglichkeiten einschränken, Gewinne in Steueroasen zu verschieben. Man stelle sich vor, was das plötzlich an Geld in die Kassen der europäischen Staaten spülen würde!

@captainfutura Frage ich mich auch. Sollen sie das Geld halt einfach weiter einsammeln und dann gezielt dort einsetzen, wo es die Menschen entlastet. Stattdessen senkt man die Steuer zeitweilig und hofft, dass die Betriebe das nicht in die eigene Tasche stecken, sondern weitergeben (Warum sollte sie?). Ich bin sehr enttäuscht von der Naivität dieser ganzen Idee.

They ALWAYS plan for a variety of scenarios, which may include an unexpected prolongation of the mission - as has happened last year when a return capsule failed. Add the typical NASA redundancy and insecurity about physiological processes in space, and 100 tampons doesn't seem unreasonable.
