@jasonsantamaria@typo.social Awesome stuff. I tried to do something similar in the past but couldn’t get it working reliably with calc, probably because I didn’t know about pow(). So many cool new techniques/tools came out during the decade or so I was focussed on non-web design work, I have so much catching up to do! Thanks for sharing.

Just a complete disconnection from reality. I’m sure those zip tied children and their parents feel so much safer and freer now.

@soop@outerheaven.club @dhpersonal@social.vivaldi.net @panic@social.panic.com lol. Panic is “corpo”? Having a good, native alternative to VSCode is just “macslop”? Get over yourself.

@jensimmons@front-end.social Some nice additions, I can’t wait to start using scroll-driven animations. Will older versions of MacOS be getting the update as well, or is it exclusive to MacOS 26?

@overcastfm@mastodon.social Are the liquid glass highlights on the icon on previous versions of the OS intentional, or something Apple is doing automatically?

@osullivan@mas.to @_MrJasonW@mastodon.social @daringfireball@mastodon.social @gruber@mastodon.social I really like Peak Design’s solution - their Everyday cases have a bottom lip, but it’s lower/flatter than the other 3 edges. Combined with a glass screen protector (which sits *just* above the bottom lip), it offers good protection without interfering with any gestures.

@AccordionBruce @uxmark @notjustbikes ABC absolutely needs to go, but have they removed any additional lanes since Stanley Park a couple of years ago? I know the Broadway project was cancelled (which was a stupid decision), and they’re still *trying* to get another of the Stanley Park lanes removed, but where else is it happening?
Again, to be clear, I do not support Sim or the rest of ABC, but I ride daily and at least in the areas I frequent, I only see new lanes going in, nothing being removed.

@maccruiskeen@social.linux.pizza As previously stated, I’m not arguing the legality of this.

@maccruiskeen@social.linux.pizza Did the people contributing think they were helping an open source project, or working for free for an incredibly profitable corporation with numerous ethical issues?
Personally I’d think twice about the latter scenario.
Edit: it’s also very likely the type of people who know about and contribute to an open source mapping project already have concerns about Google. Otherwise they likely wouldn’t even know there’s an alternative to Google/Apple maps.

@maccruiskeen@social.linux.pizza @joosteto@mamot.fr @andrej@trees.social @kytta@polymaths.social The “theft” is of the work and time that it took to put together and proof the data, not the fact that certain streets are one way or not. Is Google’s behaviour actually legal? No idea. Is it ethical? Fuck no.
It’s always strange watching people rush to defend huge corporations that don’t give a shit about any one else.
