@molly0xfff There is a good amount of grift in the AI business that is very akin to crypto-bro grift.
@vkc@linuxmom.net The issue of men threatening women with harm and sexual violence for daring to say anything online is so rampant that it's depressing. I would have thought that the moderation going on, on Mastodon, would make it better, but it sadly doesn't seem to be working.

@GabeMoralesVR@mastodon.social That's the thing, I'm aware of the stats from various sources and I've already seen all these videos, so maybe YouTube knows my tastes and suggest way more of these types of videos to someone who doesn't have a history of watching this type of content.
The Stat Counter Desktop OS monthly market share report used to be quoted a lot by Linux media when it hit above 4% last year, but it has tumbled down since then, and has not made it back to 4% for a long time (the PewDiePie video has no noticeable impact on these stats).

"algorithm" showing me confirmation bias and how much it's a new trend that I see more and more "I'm switching to #Linux" videos on the YouTube recommendations page.
