Czytam sobie finansowego ninje jako rozbiegówkę do książki Iwucia na temat inwestycji. Widzę jak bardzo przydałaby mi się tak książka 15 lat temu. Widzę również dlaczego ta książka była tak popularna. Podstawowa wiedza na temat budżetowania podana w przystępny sposób a nie w sposób taniej dramy w którą poszedł Dalej Hammer. Nie zmienia to też faktu, że na razie to mało co będzie miało dla mnie zastosowanie. No ale i tak sobie człowiek uświadamia jakieś rzeczy. Jestem jedną subskrypcję (Adobe) od tego aby całkowicie nie musieć dodawać faktur do systemu tylko wszystko ładnie zasysać z KSeF. Adobe wylatuje za 2 miesiące jakoś więc trzeba przyspieszyć projekt homelabu i kupić dyski coby zdjęcia zassać.

So in the end I have analog videophone for my home from commax. And well I want good integration with anything. Application Commax Hey Call is almost dead. Integration with #homeassistant does not exist. So I started to debug this with Claude. And well there is telnet port open with root that has no password... So I started to move further as this is busybox that is just running a binary. Claude created .so that was loaded with LD_PRELOAD and got the video feed based on the preload + some firmware loorking that it found for another version of monitor (7" version). So after tests and good night of sleep I think I'll start creating my own software for this monitor that has proper integration with homeassistant. And with my own app I can create my own UI + add more things from my HA. Let's see where we will get with this adventure.

@sowa@fedi.sowi.space but in general - label printer top. I have two. One brother (that I used to label power cables so I can use it with USB cables) and cheap niimbot. Niimbot can print qr codes and I am using them to print links to my Google drive where I have pictures of what's inside boxes that I have in my attic. The best option ever !

@sowa@fedi.sowi.space yeah but 99.9% of my cables are USB 2.0 and I just used the TB4 cable 😅 And I have this and red = good cable. The rest is the same shit. I just need to throw away them and buy good ones as I really do not have those 🤣

@NeuroWinter@infosec.exchange yeah that's why I'm thinking of replacing all of them so I just don't have to think and search for "do I have a cable that will be able to handle PD + TB4 connectivity for my monitor".

My plan for today is to install a lamp in my office. So it's obvious I'm checking USB cables with treedix cable checker. But to install the lamp I need to remove a bunch of things from my desk as I need to move it. So it's a good moment to test and throw away cables that I have. Until now I found one semi-good USB 3.2 cable with 65W PD... In the end I might throw away/give away those USB-C cables and just replace them with something good where I won't have to think 'will this work'...

I need to find time and start working on my homelab. First I need to set up the network. The part that I hate - vlans, firewalls and all of this shit. And I need to write to the ISP where is my fiber. Signed documents on the 20th of May with 90 days to do it. They are left with something like 3 weeks and the radio is really annoying.

Obsidian does not know how to use google drive on android Yet another simple idea for diary died. Potentially I could use sync tool to copy data from drive to phone but that's just annoying. Gonna search for another tool for diary.

For now I'm super happy with the Luminar mobile app.
Desktop app will be tested more after I get back and use my old Nikon D90.

Maybe I'm gonna get back into photography and finally buy Fuji X-E5. Who knows.

The second app that I'm testing is called Luminar Neo. Lifetime license right now starts from 99 euros and up to 159 (with mobile app and 1 year of presets access, 149 without presets). That's about 12 months of adobe subscriptions.

I've tested the mobile app and desktop app. Both are interesting. Some things to learn about but I'm super tempted to get the license while it's at this price.

And first issue with dxo photolab. It does not talk with dng files from my Samsung. I need to check if I need to use and buy dxo pureraw and photolab to be able to do the same thing as I can with Lightroom 🤷‍♂️

@sowa@fedi.sowi.space Snapseed is ok for quick edits. But if I want to edit a bit more Lightroom is something that I cannot move without. Even better edits from raw on phone. Immich is not something I'm probably gonna use TBH. Maaaaybe for jpegs from my phone to use instead of Google photos.

I've started taking more raw pictures with my phone. I'm using Snapseed as it's free and has most of the things I need to quickly edit a photo.

What I'm starting to be annoyed by is how to manage pictures on my phone 😬

I'll need to take a stab on this topic soon. I might just use localsend/blip apps to backup to laptop and to NAS system I want to create.

Oh I'm not the only one seeing this: The failure mode that keeps developers anchored to IDE-level inspection is agents being almost right. When something is 90% correct and subtly broken, the cost of finding the issue often exceeds what it would have taken to write it yourself. For high-stakes changes, the IDE remains the best instrument for that kind of deep, precise inspection. I would expand on this to say that people that were mediocre at coding (on manager levels and higher) now are empowered to generate something and then dump the result on others with expectation that it will be reviewed, merged and pushed to production within hours. And this does not happen on many occasions. Why ? I'd say because of couple of things: Not enough context and poor decision making that the generated code might be causing issues or at least it's not connected with previous decisions. No real planning. I see people wake up and do what came up to their head first. No real plan to finish things that were already opened or follow up on issues as this is already boring to them. So I see people that are not feeling accountable for their work as it was agent work and they are done with it. Not understanding the decision made in the code but believing that the code is what they wanted. And in the end this causes huge tension in the company. So if you're in this "I can build things" loop you might be the issue and might be one of those writing "we are shipping 25x faster".

Another hot take on AI.
And that's something I am not great at but I want to create a workflow that it will make me better.

To make AI agents more robust you need to know what you want. If you're gonna change mind too often the code will become crap faster. And making AI to fix I think it will do 2 things:

1. Produce way worse code quality with way worse bugs hidden inside the domain logic (or security loopholes).
2. The cost will rise as AI will require more tokens to analyse what it produced and fix it.

I think the next big thing in AI will be "how we can make it cheaper".

Companies are eager to spend ten of thousands of USD for AI but not on people.

Based on current state and how everything slowed down I'm gonna say that's a mistake that will be the issue in the long run IMVHO.

I can see the shift on how we build things. But it doesn't make us faster. It makes us the reviewers of what was produced as you cannot blindly believe in the thing it was produced.

Unless you're ok with errors and downtime...

And SecOps is going to have hard time... I can see that the next step is to gather more data and use AI to search for anomalies and patterns that might show that there's issue with the system... The old rules might not be enough and well we as a people will be too slow to find those new types of attack 😬

And normal usage (like hotel booking, banking) is fucked. I already see better attacks.

Yesterday I was also able to connect my doors LED and button + release mechanism to power.

I did not have details on cables so I had to use detection skills with AI what's what.

In the end everything works and I can buy the panel to put on the wall and connect switches.

After this change I will be able to lock the entry to the house with a simple switch that will disconnect power and the doors will require a key. That's a feature when we are in the house. If we are out we will still lock it with the key.

Over the last 3 days I also did build 3 small sets of Lego that I got.

Finally build Pokemon Center that I got from the insiders program. And build Japanese restaurant and castle.

Can I get OneUI 8.5 please ? It finally has AirDrop support.

Localsend is good replacement but airdrop support is that one missing piece.

So 3 days ago my life installed patch 4.2 on me.

With this patch here's what's changed/upgrade:

1. Skeptical algorithm is updated. A bunch of bugs fixed.
2. Sarcasm algorithm got upgrade to be more direct and truthful.

New features:

1. Lack of faith in IT on any level. This also comes with hate to shit building things and nonsense high level talk about nothing.

And other small bug fixes.
