gotosocial.social has updated to #GoToSocial v0.22.0-rc.3! Now (likely for the first time ever), as a regular user, you can opt into various relays and push your posts exactly how you like. You can choose: ⁃ Whether to send Public posts ⁃ Whether to send Unlisted posts ⁃ Whether to exclude posts with Content Warnings ⁃ Whether to exclude posts with media attachments ⁃ Whether to exclude your own replies and comments In short, you can set up "blacklist" mode (push all by default, exclude some) or "whitelist" mode (push none by default, only push specific types), and use different settings for different relays. This is completely under your control. By default, nothing is pushed to any relay, and it’s not affected by the relays the site admin subscribes to. If you have questions or want the site to subscribe to a specific relay, feel free to DM me. Also: Account Directory is now supported. You can opt-in via the settings panel. Users, I've upgraded the storage and re-applied the home timeline hotfix from a couple of weeks ago. You should see fewer media loading issues, and the timeline will be more usable.

@arunshah240@mastodon.social Hi! This is because all GoToSocial instances require admin approval after email verification. I haven’t had a chance to approve yours yet, but I’ll take care of it right now. Also, as mentioned in my bio and the site description, gotosocial.social is not affiliated with the GoToSocial project. Tagging their official account won’t really help with issues specific to our instance. I’ve approved your sign up request, so you should be all set to use your account now. If you’re running a #GoToSocial snapshot with PostgreSQL as database, please consider hold off on updating to commit 0415d71a. Home and local timelines might get super slow or just timeout. If you’ve already updated and are seeing issues, you can check Issue #4757 and #4758, and keep an eye out for the upcoming fix. No need to worry if you’re on the stable version, it’s not affected for now.

The home timeline loading issue has been mitigated. It might still be slow on the first load, but it should load finally most of the time now. And following reloads will be faster #go2socialchangelog

I think I've found the issue. And I’m working on a fix now.
