My concern is double: Concerned by what you report (I don't use WA or whatever from Meta, but family and friends do), and concerned in making sure we spread solid information. Anyway your tests look like confirming possibilities. Shared UIDs, shared storage on user device if only in browsers, etc. Stopping straight at any conspiracy, tools are available to stir data on user device.

The post from Green is more nuanced than what it sounds here... just read and he basically says "maybe", with disclaimers. Also, the screenshot here shows access to 2024 data (did not check the video). No idea, but WA could hide behind a proclaimed small-scale bug fixed today.

Ironically Japan may manage to sell paper planes as defence solutions. A startup here presented drones made of what looks like carbon boxes. Not checked what kind of payload, but made the news here.

The JP government announced changes that will authorise selling weapons. So long pacifism.

But I can’t help thinking that selling weapons is also—or more—an economic move. 30 years of sluggish economy addressed only via macroeconomic maneuvers a la quantitative easing, and typical neoliberal recipes like privatisations. When out of ideas, fall back to selling weapons.

@dmitry@mastodon.circle.lt Thank you, ordered and on the way. Living in Japan, I saw a lot of confusion around the "nuclear question" over the past 10 years. Knowing little more than "the cloud" news cycle back to the 80s, this confusion is scary, like we don't learn.

@dmitry@mastodon.circle.lt would you recommend readings on the topic? All I remember of the period is filtered by where I come from (France), when “the cloud” meant something else than today.

@falseknees Crows and ravens are surprisingly smart. A couple books out there on them, as well as SciFi like "Children of Memory", 3rd volume of an ongoing series by Adrian Tchaikovsky, where these animals save a world.

@georgetakei Did it suddenly become cheaper for the Iran regime to blockade the strait? Managing a bouncer is so much easier a job.
