This is one of the weeks where I'm doubting my sanity. Why oh why did I decide to turn the entire historical section of my current novel into an Anglo-saxon Epic poem?
We're drilled into emulating taut, hemingway-esque prose. That makes it really difficult writing an Anglo-Saxon-style poem where 'never use one word when you can use ten' prevails.

I'm now at the 'how many times do you really need to say that' part of editing. It involves removing a lot of duplication. Then you have to pay an editor to tell you which need to go back in to make sense.
