@sundogplanets This is the post that got me to prompt out this music. This is actually the second iteration of it as I tried for CanCon and it was too happy. Those are tears of joy Sam? Riiight???

@sundogplanets UFO's Sam. U.F.OHS! Clearly this is an invasion. What's captured here are the naked manships without their towel cloaks exposing themselves. A scientist posted images from their secret CFH alien containment facility of a baby Pierson's Puppeteer this past week as well. Perhaps we should start planting corn in these wide-fields to block them from spying on us and we can hear them rustling around. May The Farce Be With You

@katemorley That is hilarious Kate. However, no man is going to pay attention to a romance novel titled Rebecca Solnit by Men Explain Things to Me and Other Essays. Author names are just getting ridiculous nowadays. /s

@sundogplanets OMG No. I just read a short synopsis of it and it's along the lines of what I was thinking and trying to communicate. Thanks for the suggest, will look for it. I also get this impression that tech bros are confused or flat out forgot about Biology. One of my recent thoughts is, ask a tech bro to build something that retrieves and object with consistency and accuracy and uses only 001395 kWh of energy per 24 hours. You have 12 months. Not one of them would go down to the Animal Shelter and get a dog.

@sundogplanets If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball. Here's my wrench Sam. And, I get what everyone is saying. But you can't be in an echo chamber. I don't like the energy and resource uses myself. Humans aren't tools. What is the energy cost of a human doing that same scenario? And, you need to start from the beginning as they did. 25 years and a lot more than 2.9kwh. Horses aren't tools. They're horses. Used for hundreds of years, until technology changed their roles that humans used them for. They are still around, the world hasn't ended, but it's, you know, endless junk yards and wars. Not the best scenario. The problem I see it is that science fiction is becoming a religion. The tech bros are picking out the parts of Ian M. Banks Culture series and ignoring all the inconvenient parts. Like 25,000 years into the future. And it's fiction. And going back to what I said earlier, I don't care for the data centers myself. I believe that the money should be going towards Material Sciences for fusion containment vessels that last more than 10 seconds. It's then that we can go hog wild with this shit. Anyways that's my brief liberal arts education take on it in this small space that I can barely articulate. Don't kill the messenger.

@sundogplanets@mastodon.social AI in space means it's closer to god. Unfortunately, it makes stupid people think they are doctors. I mean, Jesus Christ. I'm getting my $250 worth. Here you are!

@sundogplanets@mastodon.social Sam, It's no longer a pipe, but a dab rig. I know it's hard keeping up with the times when you have a job. Soon! Anyways, there's so much talk about things being so dark and blinking up in space and these "MAG" levels. I have a plan! BIG ASS FLASHLIGHT! Yes, how else are you going to see into the darkness of space but with a big ass flashlight. Light that shit up! You can see it all! And maybe then some. Whatever that is. We can't call it a torch, it has to be flashlight. Cause stupid people will think we''re building a weapon. Where would we build this big ass flashlight you ask? The best place ever, Arecibo, Puerto Rico! It wouldn't cost much, you can get confiscated flashlights by the pound from the TSA. The most cost will be rights to that Police song, you know the one. Make Arecibo Great Again! Let there be light! Edited - Corrected Arecibo spelling. I had the wiki staring right at me and still got it wrong.

@sundogplanets@mastodon.social Sam, You have to fight fire with water so the accelerant (which apparently isn't a word in my spell check) flows on top so you get maximum fire coverage. What I mean is that, we have to come up with a plan to save earth and I have a suggestion. Black Berry Seeds! It's scientifically proven that black berries grow anywhere. So everyone in the world can contribute to sending out via rockets into space black berry seeds. Hundreds of millions of tons to maximize coverage over the universe. In a million years, or seven days, our Black Berry brethren will return to save us! We can call it Project THOR^N. What could go wrong? But wait! There's more....

@sundogplanets@mastodon.social Sam, have you thought about this new opportunity? SPACE TELEPHONE POLES. With all of those communication satellites in orbit, they need poles to carry all that information between themselves and to hold them up there. And since it's space, with space termites, space wind, and space demons (that somehow infiltrated the heavens) they can't be made out of wood, no. TITANIUM SPACE TELEPHONE POLES! And since it's space (did I say that already) we have to use biblical measurements for accurate heaven placement. And since it's space (I feel like I am repeating myself), the tech bros have already made it OK for things to fall out of space. Yes, we gotta look towards the future Sam, not the past.

@tomasino@tilde.zone Users are forgetting the mechanical noises that computers used to make. It was weird going from mechanical hard drives to SSD. SILENCE. Or the old school floppy disk noises. Or the dot matrix printers. At least you knew it was doing something. Now we sit there wondering if it's 'doing something'.
