It would be fine if the news was ever "New kind of kitten discovered, even fluffier than regular kittens" or like "Rogue AI has deleted the recipe for explosives, all further conflicts will now be solved by 1v1 slap-fights"
But it's never that, it's always carefully designed psychological manipulation to induce fear, and anger, and hopelessness (for clicks or just for evil - intent doesn't matter too much) and literally no-one should be subjected to that against their will? (imo - don't @ me)
