However, the floodlights have been hit by a power cut, so not much happening right now.

Apart from the top-level #rugbyleague this weekend including some lopsided #NRL scores so far, the revamped National Conference League kicked off this weekend. A more regionalised format below the top two divisions is an interesting, and probably sensible change. The National Cup has also been reinvigorated after becoming a shadow of its former self in recent years.

I detect some rumblings of discontent on the ground regarding these changes, but I'm not close enough to know details.

It's time for a further update to the northern hemisphere best teams list. This time it's a double update. Firstly, we've got North Wales #Crusaders. They're next in the list, although I've already covered the original Goole and Carlisle teams above them. This was due to a reassessment of their first season after moving on from their Super League origins; that 2013 season was artificially inflated by the high starting rating the the division they were in. 1/?

And, while we're here, here's the next up the list of the most successful teams in the Aussie league. Still pretty low down of course, the first foray of a Perth team into high level #rugbyleague, soon to be (unfairly?) abandoned. #NRL

Following on from the northern version, here's the Southern hemisphere Eddington scores. Put simply, if a team has 40 on this list, they've scored 40 points in 40 matches, but not 41 in 41. Modern names are used for all clubs.

Well well well, we had that as about 12/1 for a home win. Hell of an effort by York to take their first top division win since April 1986!

On that day, they beat #Dewsbury 39-18, but this was an infinitely more impressive scalp against the champions.
