@klara@wandering.shop The difference there is down to your firmware, not your OS. By the time Linux gets your key strokes it's already receiving the key codes for the F or media keys.
You can check in your UEFI settings for both machines if they have a fn-lock setting. Many keyboards also have fn+esc as an unadvertized toggle for fn lock.
If you get no luck there and you're feeling spicy Linux can do a custom keyboard layout to swap the meaning of the keys, but that's getting advanced.

@grumpybozo @NicelyManifest @NanoRaptor Which actually makes a great little illustration of the reason there are different primary color systems!

@titania@retro.pizza Thanks. It was NOT by my choice and frankly the way it happened was one of the most toxic parts of the whole sick situation... But I do have to believe that ultimately it will change my life for the better.

One of the most amusing things in the life of a programmer is receiving an escalated customer service issue, only for the tech person to discover that "it never breaks in front of Tech Support" goes up the chain too.

@tarajdactyl I wish I could say I'm experienced with Rust. :/ I'm looking to break into it that area a very experienced coder in other specializations. (Full stack webapps, lots of python and ts.) I don't suppose your team has any openings that would fit someone in that position?

@Tijn@dosgame.club I can see it. The photos in their own archive would have been taken in the house style contemporary to that model, @NanoRaptor@bitbang.social's was more modern-Apple looking. They'd have had to dig an actual example out of the museum and take a fresh photo to make it fit the presentation as well

@AVincentInSpace @foone (I actually did a couple years' professional stint programming TV interfaces for *way* more primitive smart TVs than the min specs of RokuOS. They *were* web pages and they did *not* have input lag.)

@AVincentInSpace @foone It's a reimplementation of the basics of web app technology with 1/1000000th of the labor hours the industry has poured into making web tech work in spite of itself.

@molly0xfff Sounds like the classic "it didn't happen and also it's good that it happened and also it was somebody else's fault" defense...

@kashhill@mastodon.social Heads up-- Eliezer Yudkowsky is a prominent figure in what's virtually an AI cult. You might want to consider him a better candidate for another article than for any future citations. :/

@Will@wandering.shop The mod team and the administrator got in a fight over some stuff the adminstrator was saying. I honestly don't know who was in the right originally, it's kind of murky.
Then she posted a bunch of static that amounts to "trans identities other than mine are all fake" and decided to burn the instance to the ground.
