hit that point where I think I'm just going to shut off youtube comment notifications, because the same things get repeated on loop lol
perusing youtube and seeing more "art software doesn't matter" videos. I've made one on this before... it doesn't matter if you already have skills. you can make anything in any art software.
but some software absolutely *sucks* for beginners, and people watching these tend to be beginners.
might be time for me to refresh my own video on this. I have that itch. "art software doesn't matter" is some of that vague advice that sounds good like "draw anything to practice" but it's deeply unhelpful when you're learning
wanted to share this lovely lockscreen commission I got from @Kiro@bark.lgbt! have had this set as my phone wallpaper for a few weeks now and I still love seeing him whenever I turn the screen on 🧡
musing about a different style of end-screen for long-form videos, mostly to integrate credits while I'm still speaking about the topic at hand. less time padded at the end for them, more eyes on end-screen stuff I wanna show
lot of folks comparing recent shorts as “Furry Chris Boden”. which I’m flattered by & see the connection, but I’m not aiming to steal his show. my delivery style is inspired by a whole range of folks, including him, Vsauce, Dr Seuss, Technology Connections (yes!), and broad VR culture.
it’s not rude to make comparisons between YouTubers you watch, but I hope folks get that I won’t play up the Boden stereotype because he is himself and I am my own self. my video style is slowly settling in with experimentation and I’m finding things that *I* like, not mimicking someone else. 🦊🧡

there was a really good page/doc/pdf of counter arguments to common pro-AI fallacies. things like a response to “AI learns art just like a human does”. anyone know what/where that was? edit: specifically with an art focused angle

vocal booth is not *pretty* but my god is it nice to record in. it’s quiet enough here that my clothes are the loudest obstacle. N1 mic works sooooo well in this environment.
am now going down a dangerous route of What If I Got A New Microphone
originally got an SM7dB to help address my untreated room and gross Mouth Noises, and my typical voiceover style then made it a good fit
but now things have changed, I'm doing different voice styles, and I'll have Kanjon Cage
