@ulf Cooking over a gas flame is great for speed and immediate controllability, but in my view the down-sides of gas in a residential environment outweigh that convenience. I wouldn't build in gas, either in a new build or as an add-on.

Maybe Trump isn't actually lying his arse off about having had "great" talks with Iran.

Maybe his handlers are doing a "Truman Show" thing with him, and getting him on the phone with somebody purporting the be the Great Grand Ayatollah or something, and he genuinely thinks he's been engaging in genuine diplomacy.

Considering the unpredictable and unprovoked shit that comes out of his mouth at any given moment, that might be the best way to deal with him when it comes to anything even vaguely important or consequential.

I was reading some old sci-fi recently, and it occurred to me that there were some terms used back in the day that might need translation for a more modern audience.

For example, a "playboy" refers to somebody that these days we would call a "sexual predator". A "pillar of the community" refers to somebody who is white, an exploitative conservative, and most likely a domestic abuser.

Hope this helps young people to interpret older writing.
