Taking a page from Trump’s evil book.
I just bought this book. It will help distract me from my excessive screen addiction. I’ve been following the author for many years and generally like his work. I’ll let you know what I think.
Pretext, preface, and justification for its stranglehold on Cuba and eventual (imminent?) invasion. Good thing Cuba doesn’t have any serious armed forces to defend itself, because the US shot its wad in Iran & Venezuela, and now we’re running out of ammo.
But Trump needs another distraction from the Epstein files and his crime family’s asset stripping of the US and the ongoing destruction of what was left of democracy.

Before it was called the Eiffel Tower, it was known as La Tour de Trois Cent Mètres (The Three Hundred Meter Tower). High-brow Parisian artists and writers hated it at first, but eventually it was a huge popular success following its creation for the Exposition Universelle de 1889.
London thought about creating its own Eiffel Tower and called for proposals. The project was never completed, but here are some of the proposals.

This is not an easy read, but it’s helping me get a grasp of what AI really means. I need to read it a few more times, and I’m not sure I’ll ever completely understand it. But it’s helping me move on from my original stance of “All AI is bad” to understanding what it is (and isn’t) and what it can (and can’t) do (yet).
Of course, the possibility of malicious abuse is huge, which fuels my hostility to it.

@AncTreat5358 It’s something that I’ve noticed over the course of teaching for 25 years. I haven’t been in a K-12 school in many years, and I don’t know anything about their curricula. (I know there’s a big debate about how reading is taught now.)
