i think i just saw ai slop subtitles on a show made by a billion dollar company. i actually think subtitles are one of the least bad uses for generative ai (though i still dont like that a company that can absolutely pay humans is using it) but the subtitles are getting the names of the main characters wrong. having a human read the output is literally the bare minimum

@reilyh@blahaj.zone that makes sense and i wouldnt mind that at all. i just find it annoying when people send a voice message without any alt text, especially when they are perfectly capable of typing. in my experience they also seem to be the type of person who gets mad at me for not responding quickly enough, and the voice message adds an extra barrier.
am i the only person who HATES being sent those stupid voice message things instead of texts? like just use the speech to text thing if typing is really that much of an issue. it takes so much more effort for me to open an app, tap on the thing and wait for someone to finish speaking (they always talk so slow in those i swear) then just reading the notification

I've noticed a lot of people making mean and edgy jokes just to be mean and edgy. ive even done a bit of this myself by saying queer slurs more and more for no good reason. i ended up deciding that from now on, I will go out of my way to be as kind as i can to everyone because it takes minimal effort and it makes the world a better place.
