Love yellow warblers, but they so rarely sit still for more than 2 seconds. Watched them flying around and zooming off from impossible to shoot spots for 20-30 minutes before they finally landed on a branch I had a clear view of.
Eagle hiding in the cottonwoods
Barn swallows flitting around the gazebo at the lake. SO HARD TO TRACK.
Saw a muskrat the other day, never seen one in Colorado before. Couldn't get any good pics of it, but was still neat to see.
Avocets are so pretty. Managed to sneak up pretty close to these ones.
Saw this girl out grabbing a mocha today.
The harriers always put on a show when I walk by.
Western Kingbird. Probably one of the better shots I’ve taken this year even if it’s a pretty common bird, happy with how this one came out.
Saw a swarm of bees in my local park this weekend and the orioles that just migrated back were pretty happy about it.
I believe this was a prairie lizard, but liz resources for identification aren’t really as solid as bird resources. LMK if anyone has a better idea of what it might have been. Seen in Waterton Canyon last week.
Herons and pelicans fly so well, always cool seeing them skim just above the water.
Teeny little gallinule chicks 🐥
Western painted turtle catchin' some rays since it's been so hot. Weird to see turtles and lizards in March here.
Great horned owl finally sitting somewhere I could get a clear shot, though still far away.
