@Cal one more problem that should be considered is that Discord can any time restrict or delete an user account, or refuse someone to make an account in the first place if someone has something with location; browser etc. that Discord doesnt like It happened for me, tried to sign up to Discord and they immediately told me that they "detected suspicious activity" and i have to givethem a phone number to verify i am real Nope

@0xabad1dea I have never be on Twitter before because i never felt right with this kind of short messenging blasts The Fediversum has a huge appeal of unifying the world, as in its kind of Meta-Browser that allows to view and interact from one space with so many other places in the online world I really like the calm atmosphere and the positive freak people here I just miss here entire subgroups and Fandoms and RL events/organizations, these people have all abandoned their accounts here

Ist hier jemand von euch aus dem größerem Umland von #Nürnberg (alles bis etwa 3 Stunden Zugfahrt) der am Sonntag ein bißchen Zeit und Interesse hätte mir zu helfen daß ich mal einen #FurSuit anprobiere ob alles gut genug paßt, oder kennt ihr einen Ort wo ich tagsüber hingehen kann?

@nicole i have heard of experimental CRT that tried something like this with the 3,58 NTSC color carrier, but they were not anywhere practical Another technology that might find more use would be projection TV They would get a lot simpler replacing complicated color convergence circuits for three spatially displaced tubes with a scanning mirror for sequentially scanning them Cheapies might run a single white tube through a color wheel, just like a DLP projector does it today /Multipart

@nicole Multipart I cant say much about computers of that era, but a lot more about video hardware First of all i expect the shadow mask color CRT would have been developed in exactly the same way, this type of CRT can be run totally fine with color field sequential mode as well Perhaps a different kind of CRT would had commercial success as well, where a single beam was rasterscanning and color selection done electrostatic or magnetic in the shadow mask

@loebas @sturmsucht Discord DOES demand a phone number, at least for some people including me I tried to sign up a year ago, and already during the process things got stuck with the message "we detected suspicious activity, give us a phone number we can sent a SMS to verify you" Maybe they got triggered by the fact i am using Linux as operating system, with a seperate Firefox profile disconnected from other activities and sending "do not Track"
