@Largo@poa.st @EvilSandmich@poa.st @Terry@poa.st I’ve mentioned this, before; when I was in jr. high, I lived in the Pacific NW; and my History/Social Science teacher was talking at length about how towns like Wilsonville, Oregon and Longview, Washington were poised to become unparalleled industrial powerhouses, potentially dwarfing Portland or even Seattle in the following decades. The water/sewer/power/road/rail infrastructure was already in place or very nearly; but instead of following through with it, all the factory shit got shipped over to China, along with millions of jobs. I bet somebody is kicking themselves; or somebody’s kids anyhow.
