Now that I'm in the post game of Hades 2 I'm kind of sad there isn't much left to do except a few trials & prophecies and the final(?) incantation to wake Hypnos, so imagine my joy when I saw this mod that adds Hades 1 in its entirety sans the weapons to play through as Melinoe 👀
I wonder how many more hours I'll end up playing beyond the 280 I've already put in 😂
I was told this would be delivered after 3-5 days when I bought it but here we are 15 days and a complaint to customer support later and it finally turned up. It'll be nice to have a controller for TV use that has all the same inputs as the Steam Deck.
An instrumental version of my favourite album from last year just dropped and it really takes on a whole new life, as always I'm really impressed with II's impeccable drumming 😍
So what dating apps are folks using these days?

Game 8 - Ninja Gaiden 4
Platinum games seriously worked some magic with the combat system in this one in fact I'd go as far as saying it's their best work even topping Nier Automata

Amazingly fun story & cast of misfits, gameplay is a bit QTE heavy but if you liked the old telltale games you will likely love this

Game 4 - Super Mario Bros Wonder
What a fantastic 2D Mario! The music, level design and overall creativity in this game is second to none. Thoroughly enjoyed it the whole way through but still have to get all the exits, collectables and seeds (😳) for 100%.

Game 3 - Super Mario 3D World + Bowsers Fury
Overall a typical Nintendo platformer if a little restrictive with the camera and annoying with the anxiety inducing timer which changes the music when it gets low

A really fun speed running collect-athon platformer despite only being a few hours long I enjoyed it the whole way through.

My gaming backlog has got massively out of hand in the last few years so one of my goals for this year is to finish at least 50 games from it and I'm going to keep track of it in a thread here to hold myself accountable.
Game 1 - Resident Evil 4 Remake
Never played the original due to its funky aiming controls but now I can see why it is held in high regard. Only minor let down was a couple of crashes loading Chapter 14.

In short I'm overall impressed with how seamless & painless SteamOS & distros like Bazzite & Nobara make PC gaming with a controller on a TV, just don't do what I did and mess with it on an existing install and just install the Bazzite-Deck or Nobara-HTPC builds from the get go and definitely don't expect 4k60 out of the Steam Machine when it comes out outside of a few specific low requirement indie games.

Despite being able to override the resolution on a per game basis I ran into quite a few games that didn't respect that override (Diablo 2 Resurrected) and even one that has no resolution option (Absolum, great game btw I highly recommend checking it out if you like Hades).
Now I've found a similar way to set it up as my distro has optional packages that essentially trick Steam into running in Deck mode, which has allowed me to set the resolution at 1440p & up to 120Hz with HDR & VRR enabled.
Out of curiosity I've been messing around with what SteamOS would be like when the Steam Machine eventually comes out since I have a similarly specced system. Initially I set up a separate session that launches Steam in big picture mode using gamescope but unfortunately that locked me out of being able to change the system resolution and refresh rate for some reason so it was locked at 4k60Hz which caused no end of performance issues.
