@skinnylatte@hachyderm.io We were walking our dogs on the beach. A family of sea lions surfaced just off-shore, looking right at us and barking. Sometimes they'll accompany us on our walk. One year there were rafts of scores of them, fins locked together, for a couple days, barking their heads off. Interesting creatures.

This came within a few votes of happening in WA in 2024 for Gov and another state-wide office. The Dems who squeaked thru won the general with comfortable margins.

@digyoursoul One of my favorite features of WA elections is that our ballots just show up in our mail ~3 weeks before the election. Other great bits: We can mail our postage-paid ballots or drop them in one of the numerous boxes right up to poll closing. We can download, print, vote and mail our ballots from anywhere in the world, as long as they’re postmarked by ED and received by the acceptance deadline. Then track them online to verify acceptance. Elections will call abt any problems.

Many also have annual events to honor those who were lost. They want to make sure nobody forgets.
