I've basically zero fears of retaliation. If I knew the guy, then saying "dude, a camera phone on the toilets might freak people out" might seem reasonable. Having HR so that if I don't know might seem reasonable. Saying nothing might seem reasonable. Never speaking up because you aren't uncomfortable, when you know others are, that seems much less reasonable

You might consider him harmless, other people might be made seriously uncomfortable. I wasn't there in your specific situation, so I can't comment on the details of that one, but if I think there's a reasonable risk of somebody being made uncomfortable, I lean towards saying something. 🧵

@GeePawHill I'm European, so my normal definition of moderate right-wing is left of some of your liberals :-) By US standards I'm probably an actual communist, over here I'm mostly left of centre with a few hard left elements thrown in. The inability of folks other than the right wing to vote for less-than-perfect stands though. I think you'd be a fascinating person to grab a beer with - my round if you find yourself in UK / Ireland

@jmacarthur @mjg59 Co-op supermarket had the same issue circa 2001, I remember getting a trolly full of carrots in order to bring a fifteen pound shop down to under aa pound as a student. We donated the carrots to the equestrian campus
