@brett@bitflipp.social @ai6yr@m.ai6yr.org @lauren@mastodon.laurenweinstein.org @mattgriffin@masto.ai I'm a fairly large, straight white male, comfortable with a respected job role. I've basically zero fears of retaliation. If I knew the guy, then saying "dude, a camera phone on the toilets might freak people out" might seem reasonable. Having HR so that if I don't know might seem reasonable. Saying nothing might seem reasonable.
Never speaking up because you aren't uncomfortable, when you know others are, that seems much less reasonable

@brett@bitflipp.social @ai6yr@m.ai6yr.org @lauren@mastodon.laurenweinstein.org @mattgriffin@masto.ai I said ''consider', because the thought would definitely cross my mind and I'd have to think about whether I wanted to. You might consider him harmless, other people might be made seriously uncomfortable.
I wasn't there in your specific situation, so I can't comment on the details of that one, but if I think there's a reasonable risk of somebody being made uncomfortable, I lean towards saying something.

@ndevenish@mas.to @ChrisMayLA6@mastodon.me.uk disbarment is extreme for this compared to similar non-AI related unintentional but clearly negligent submissions to the court - a 1 year suspension and a few thousand pounds of fine would be par for the course

@GeePawHill@mastodon.social there's the Epstein memorial ballroom too, going from its initial "free" to the current "billion dollars for security" so that we don't forget Epstein

@Setok@attractive.space this used to be my absolute favourite things about Ireland. It's less common than it used to be, since pubs are just less popular than they used to be, but in the right pub on the right night the magic is still there

@DGI@graeber.social but your argument ignores the fact that humans are human, which is just as much a sin. "We could do X if we were a different species with a fundamentally different psychological makeup"

@calicoday @GeePawHill I wouldn't get your hopes up there. Most countries with universal healthcare still suck at mental health care, unfortunately

@GeePawHill I'm European, so my normal definition of moderate right-wing is left of some of your liberals :-) By US standards I'm probably an actual communist, over here I'm mostly left of centre with a few hard left elements thrown in.
The inability of folks other than the right wing to vote for less-than-perfect stands though.
I think you'd be a fascinating person to grab a beer with - my round if you find yourself in UK / Ireland

@GeePawHill congratulations on doing and advertising your support for the thing that liberals are sadly terrible at in general - holding your nose and making the least worst choice. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for this and for November
