Two things can happen to the Vision Pro, the current $3,500 headset:

• It’ll be canned entirely and we’ll never hear about it again, or
• It’ll go the way of the HomePod and still be supported/sold, but with no future hardware updates

Both are equally likely, IMO.

Here’s my take on the Vision Pro team stuff: While I don’t think the entire team has been dismantled, I do think a lower-priced Vision Air or whatever is off the table. Maybe their software people have moved over to Federighi’s team as the product stabilized. From what I see, there seems no way to completely cancel a subscription you’ve “committed” to, even if you’re willing to pay a cancellation fee (like Adobe). OpenAI’s biggest problem is that they’re giving compute away to power users and normal people don’t want to pay for ChatGPT. This is not going to end well. Anthropic correctly identified this and effectively stopped subsidizing Opus 4.7 tokens, especially for users on lower tiers.

Stress-testing some new code in my app and currently discovering features I didn’t even know it had. (It converts the citation Markdown to an AttributedString, allowing you to pass emphasis, links, and anything else into the text fields.)

New bug report / feedback for Apple #SwiftUI engineers: Please allow omitting color information (or preferably, most attributes) from rich text copied via SwiftUI Text modified with .textSelection(.enabled).

SwiftUI copies text to the clipboard in the primary text color. E.g., if dark mode is enabled, the copied text will be white. This makes the copied text illegible when pasted into word processors. Solution: Please omit the color attribute from the text.
