in going through a bunch of old files in my downloads folder, I found an old zip of the source code for fleksy/flicktype
Any iOS coders or Vibe Coders want this to hack on?
It was open source for a while until he close sourced it for some reason. I have no idea what state the source is in, I just remember grabbing it thinking I bet it'll be useful some day when he pulls the source off gh.
I can tell you the date I got the zzip from github was 6/16/2018
So if someone wants to be a hero and revive flicktype let me know and I'll send the archive.

@payown@dragonscave.space I have always bought my exercise equipment on places like craigslist or ebay market place. you can go look at it and see how easy it will be to mark. Plus you'll save a bit of money. so many people buy exercise equipment use it for the failed new years resolution then dump it for cheap because they want that space back in their house. That treadmill ends up being a $800 coat rack that they sell you for $250

@Bri@fwoof.space Updating YT-DLP fixed one problem but now I have a new one Error: Unsupported stream format. Check bass_aac.dll is in lib directory. I do have that file and I even did a clean download.

Anyone else having trouble playing youtube videos with #FastPlay? I have tried multiple versions of ytdlp in multiple locations and I always get an error. It doesn't matter if I search for a video or paste the url directly.

Is there a good NVDA addon or way in nvda to click a link from within a terminal or console window?
I've been needing to click a lot of links from within ssh terminals and they wrap across multiple lines, so selecting them can be a little annoying.
Seems like this could be a good use for an nvda addon of some sort.

In the 1700s, teens were accused of being… addicted to novels.
Not alcohol. Not gambling.
Reading.
Across Europe, a strange fear gripped adults. Young people were devouring novels at a pace never seen before. They read at the dinner table, in bed, even while walking through the streets.
This wasn’t seen as a harmless hobby.
It was called “reading fever” or “book addiction.”
Some claimed it would rot their minds.
Others worried it would damage morals, ruin posture, or lead to dangerous daydreaming. Fiction was accused of causing everything from laziness to madness.
Moralists and educators sounded the alarm.
Pamphlets warned parents. Schools debated limits.
It wasn’t just what teens were reading — it was who was writing it.
Books like Samuel Richardson’s Pamela (1740) or Goethe’s The Sorrows of Young Werther (1774) stirred emotion, imagination, and independence.
They were often written by or for women — a major threat to the era’s social order.
But despite the panic, teens kept reading.
And quietly, something revolutionary was happening.
This “reading mania” helped fuel mass literacy, gave rise to the modern novel, and encouraged generations to explore new ideas through story.
The so-called crisis?
It laid the foundation for modern literature as we know it.
Funny how things change.
Today, we beg kids to pick up a book.
Had you ever heard about the 1700s reading panic?
What do you think society would say if teens got “addicted” to books again?
