@chrisdejabet@mastodon.social idk if you’ve noticed, but Look Around in Apple Maps is live in Lincoln, or at least some of it! About time!
I'm surprised when my fellow developers will toil with problems that should be out of scope for them. Sometimes you *don't* need to handle that issue at that layer of the stack. It can be someone else's problem, and that's ok. You don't need to solve every issue or get mad about external factors that you feel will make your job more complicated.
Not every problem is *yours* to solve.
The latest Gurman article is wild. He’s trying to spin the software design failures of Tahoe as a hardware shortcoming. Huh?
RE: @macrumors@mastodon.social
Apple has a long history of terrible naming, and I guess they're going all in on Air, Max, Pro, & Ultra names for all hardware.
And that's too bad. They're not good names. They don't do anything to describe the products. They're essentially marketing names for pricing tiers.
I prefer names that give the user info about the thing. "Touch ID” and “Face ID” were not named “Authentication Pro” and “Authentication Ultra”, and for good reason.
I know @gruber@mastodon.social likes it, but he’s wrong on this one.
Hmm, 15.7.5 is the latest macOS Sequoia release, but the public beta train is offering up 15.7.7. Whatever happened to 15.7.6?
@harshil@mastodon.social remember the OG iPad keynote where Steve Jobs said it would last a month on standby? Yeah…about that.
Apple should rethink their Apple Sports Live Activity in the Dynamic Island for golf.
It just shows the player in 1st place. If you know anything about golf you know the players in last place start first.
Which means most likely I’ll just be looking at the 1st place player’s name for the next 5 hours or more. It’s useless. It should show the player whose score changed most recently.
I will never understand people that release major software updates to customers on a Friday. That’s what Monday through Wednesday are for. Maybe a Thursday if it’s just a patch/bug fix release.
@dmoren@zeppelin.flights are your Jeopardy! episodes on the Internet anywhere? I can’t find them on Hulu or Peacock.
Anyone else have a 30 pin to USB-C cable, or just me?
