@heidilifeldman@mastodon.social The Saudis aren't terribly good to journalists either. The US has not had a great track record when it chooses international partnerships. And Trump is dead set to buddy up with Putin, who is running multiple versions of Apartheid simultaneously. It's not just the casual sexism and aggressive racist policy that's worrisome (although those things are the largest part). It's probable that this is their jumping off point for an unheard of level of social control by the government.
