“In an ongoing lawsuit, Meta now argues that uploading pirated books to strangers via BitTorrent qualifies as fair use. The company also stresses that the data helped establish U.S. global leadership in AI.”

“email provider Proton Mail provided Swiss authorities with payment data that the FBI then used to determine who was allegedly behind an anonymous account affiliated with the Stop Cop City movement in Atlanta”
The headline and framing is kind of clickbait. All businesses are required to share payment information under KYC laws when requested.
Proton can however be criticized for not offering actual anonymous payment methods on there Account creation page and instead hide it in a support article or otherwise inform the user about the possible risk. They also only accept fed coin BTC instead of an actual private and anonymous cryptocurrency like monero xmr.

I Got Banned & Deported From Israel…
The Cemu Flatpak, as well as installers for other operating systems, were not affected.
The compromise reportedly came from one of the project’s own contributors who “ran a compromised python package which stole his GitHub token. This was then used to reupload a compromised version of the two linux binaries in the v2.6 (latest) release of Cemu.”"
[its stealing SSH keys, github tokens and has a random chance to wipe your /home /var /etc... if keyboard layout and time zone is israel]

even if the flatpak was effected it could not have done much with read only permissions, only wipe itself and ~/.local/share/applications
most likely even if you refuse it would still phones home anyways
directive 8020 is somehow worse than the previous super massive slop games :zt_huh:
